Jeannine attended BBC in 1960. She and her husband, Richard, were approved as BBF missionaries to Ethiopia in 1960, arriving on the field in 1961. She served there with her husband until the Communist takeover when they changed to the field of Kenya.

Jeannine was survived by her husband, Richard, and five children: Jacqueline Burkholder, Olaf, Eric, Jonathan, and Kristina. Richard and Kristina continued to serve the Lord in Kenya until she enrolled in college in the US. Ole and Renee are BBFI missionaries in Kenya. Jon and Pam are now serving in the Mission Office after 2 terms as missionaries in Kenya.
