Bob was born in Middletown, Ohio, on May 26, 1924. He was saved at the Grace Baptist Church of Middletown, Howard Sears, pastor. Bob attended the Bible Baptist Seminary at Fort Worth, Texas, and graduated in 1958.
He and his wife, Lavina, were approved as BBFI missionaries to Alaska in 1958.
In 1981, Lavina's failing health made it necessary for them to change from the field of Alaska to the Seminole Indians in Florida. In 1985, both Bob's and Lavina's health necessitated their going on medical disability status. They made their home in Largo, Florida, and were faithful in the New Testament Baptist Church.
Lavina preceded her husband to Glory in 1999, and Bob moved back to Alaska to be near his family. He went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2005. He was survived by two sons, Nelson and William, and one daughter, Diana.
