2022 BBFI National Officer Nominees

 

On Tuesday, May 4, 2022, the State Representatives of the BBFI established the ballot for 2022 BBFI National Officers. This ballot was then approved during the business meeting of the BBFI on Wednesday, May 5, 2022. Below you will be introduced to each candidate. At the bottom of this page you can request a ballot to download. After downloading you will need to print, complete, and mail to the BBFI Mission Office with a postmark date no later than July 1, 2022.. President

 

Jon Haley
Hallmark Baptist Church
Fort Worth, TX

Jon Haley has been the lead Pastor of Hallmark Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, TX since 2016. He previously served as Lead Pastor of Northside Baptist in Arkansas City, Kansas. He also served as the youth pastor of Hallmark Baptist and Woodcliff Baptist in Austin, Texas. Jon earned his bachelor’s degree from Baptist Bible College in 1995 and a Master's degree from Liberty University in 2008.

Jon serves as the 1st Vice President of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. He also serves on the board of MANNA Worldwide and PR.I.ME. Ministries. He is also an adjunct professor at Baptist Bible College.

He and his wife, Joy, have three children.

Dustin Janney
Orlando Baptist Church
Orlando, FL

Dustin Janney has been the lead pastor of Orlando Baptist Church in Orlando, FL, since 2016. He joined the staff in 2014. He is a graduate of Boston Baptist College. Prior to serving at Orlando Baptist, he served at Avalon Church in the Orlando metro.

Dustin serves as the State Rep for the FL BBF. He also serves as the president of Orlando Christian Prep, a ministry of Orlando Baptist. Under his leadership, the church hosted the 2020 February National BBFI meeting.

He and his wife, Brooke, have four children.

 

 

John Theisen
Midway Church
Aubrey, TX

John Theisen has been the lead pastor at Midway Church in Aubrey, TX, since 1998. Prior to serving at Midway, John was an associate pastor in student and worship ministry at Bible Baptist Church of Galveston, TX (1985-1988) and lead pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Odessa, TX (1989-1998). Under John’s leadership, Midway Church has sent out and/or sponsored two church plants. In 2007 they helped start Rock Creek Church in Prosper, TX. In 2016 they began sponsoring Eben-Ezer Church in Denton, TX.

John served for seven years as a trustee at Baptist Bible College. He currently serves as a trustee for Global Life University (formerly BBC Asia). He also served as a BBFI Mission Field Rep for 15 years and served one term on the BBFI Mission Advisory Committee. He has also served as a TX BBF director.

He and his wife, Kim, have three children and ten grandchildren.

 
 
 

2nd Vice-President (Education)

 

Kevin Carson
Sonrise Baptist Church
Ozark, MO

Kevin Carson is the founding pastor and has served as lead pastor of Sonrise Baptist Church in Ozark, MO, since 2002 when he started the church.  In addition to his pastoral ministry, he serves as the department chair of biblical counseling at Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO. Kevin writes regularly at kevincarson.com. He also serves as a counselor at Sonrise Biblical Counseling Ministry, is ACBC Certified, IABC Certified, a council member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition, author, and is a frequent speaker at conferences, retreats and seminars.

Kevin currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Missouri BBF, as a BBFI Mission Field Rep, and as a faculty member at Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary. In his role as a faculty member, Kevin has been involved with multiple accreditation teams, developed and maintains two academic programs, and has taught for almost twenty-five years on the undergraduate and seminary levels. As an educator, he participates in multiple higher education consortiums of Bible colleges and seminaries.

He and his wife, Kelly, have four children.

 

 

John Reilly
Beacon Baptist Church
Taylor, MI

John Reilly has been the senior pastor of Beacon Baptist Church in Taylor, MI, since 2018. John graduated from Baptist Bible College in 1981 and joined the staff at Beacon the same year to work with teenagers and the church music program. He continued as worship pastor and associate pastor until the church voted him in as the third pastor of Beacon Baptist in 2018. John earned a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University in 2016.

John currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Boston Baptist College being Chairman of the Board the past four years. For 19 years he served on the Taylor School Board being president for ten of those years. He also serves on the Arab/American Friendship Center in Dearborn, MI. He has also served at the MI State Chairman, BBFI Mission Advisory Committee, BBFI Mission Field Rep.

He and his wife, Rhonda, have four adult children and six grandchildren.

 
 

3rd Vice-President (Church Planting)

 

Joey Candillo
Grace Church
Independence, MO

Joey Candillo is the founding pastor and has served as lead pastor of Grace Church in Independence, MO, since 2014. At the age of 22 Joey went to prison for selling drugs. It was in prison that Joey received Christ as his Savior. He graduated from Baptist Bible College in 2002. He has planted two churches. In addition to Grace Church, he also planted Milestone Church in inner-city Kansas City in 2002.

Joey has served as MO State Rep and BBC Alumni Association Vice-President. He also serves as the chaplain for a local high school football team.

He and his wife, Megan, have five children.

 

 

Randy Abell
Heartland Baptist Church
Ames, IA

Randy Abell is the founding pastor and has served as lead pastor of lead pastor of Heartland Baptist Church in Ames, IA, since 2003. He graduated from Baptist Bible College in 1987 with an education degree. After leaving Springfield, He served as an officer in the US Army in the Indiana National Guard for ten years and started a business all while volunteering as a teen pastor at his home church in Bloomington.  After being called to preach in 2001, he sold his business and returned to Springfield to earn a master’s from BBC. 

After completing his master’s degree, he moved to Ames Iowa to start Heartland Baptist in 2003. He also serves as the BBFI State Representative and State Chairman for Iowa.

He and his wife, Deanna, have two children.

Jason Petermann
Christ Community Church
Bartlesville, OK

Jason Petermann has been the lead pastor of Christ Community Church in Bartlesville, OK, since 2011. He is a 1992 graduate of Baptist Bible College and has served in churches in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

He has served as BBFI State Rep for Oklahoma and currently serves as the BBFI Secretary.

He and his wife, Jennifer, have five children and three grandchildren.

LaVoid Ford
Temple Baptist Church
Hobbs, NM

LaVoid Ford has been the lead pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Hobbs, NM, since 1989. After graduating from Baptist Bible College in 1979, he went on staff at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Farmington, NM. After serving on staff for eight years he was called as pastor of Temple Baptist in Hobbs where he currently serves.

He currently serves as the BBFI State Rep and State Chairman for NM. He has also served as the treasurer for the NM BBF.

He and his wife, Denise, have three children and six grandchildren.

 

 

Bob Stephenson
Graceway Baptist Church
Springfield, MO

Bob Stephenson has been the lead pastor of Graceway Baptist Church in Springfield, MO, since 2000. He joined the staff in 1996 as an associate pastor. Bob holds degrees from Macomb College, Liberty University, and Baptist Bible College.

He has served on the Missions Office Advisor Board, and currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the MO BBF and as a BBFI Mission Field Rep. He served as chaplain for the Springfield Police Department for ten years. He is certified in dispute resolution through The National Center for Dispute Settlement. 

He and his wife, Kim, have one child.

Gary Fuller
Gentle Shepherd Baptist Church
Lincoln, NE

Gary Fuller is the founding pastor and has served as lead pastor of Gentle Shepherd Baptist Church in Lincoln, NE, since 1997. Gary has served in eight different churches affiliated with the BBFI. He has served as BBFI State Rep for Nebraska and currently serves as the BBFI Treasurer.

Gary also serves as the senior chaplain for Lincoln Police, Lincoln Fire & Rescue, and Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

He and his wife, Lynn, have three children.
