  • Job Description:

    The Worship Leader / Minister of Music shall be a Christian dedicated to the service of the Lord and will provide leadership in the supervision of the music program of Fair Haven Baptist Church. He will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor. The Minister of Music is to be faithful in attendance to worship services. The Minister of Music must support and administer the policies of Fair Haven Baptist Church. The Minister of Music must be a faithful tither to Fair Haven Baptist Church.

    The main duties of the Minister of Music are to facilitate God-centered worship in our church; to direct and manage the administrative and managerial duties of the worship department; to provide oversight and guidance to the worship volunteers.

    The Minister of Music is responsible for the development of additional musical ministries and programs for the church that will utilize members in advancing the Gospel through music and song.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Direct the planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating of a comprehensive music program including choirs, vocal and/or instrumental ensembles.
    2. Cooperate with the church process to enlist and train leaders for the church music
    ministry.
    3. Arrange and provide music for weddings, funerals, special projects, ministries and
    other church-related activities upon request.
    4. Organize, promote and oversee all music/media ministry aspects.
    5. Supervise the maintenance of the music library, materials, supplies, instruments and other equipment; including all church approved software systems/programs/platforms.
    6. Be informed on music methods, materials, promotion and administration.
    7. Prepare an estimated annual music budget and administer the approved budget.
    8. Assist the Senior Pastor in planning all services of worship.
    9. Oversee the worship department budget, organization and volunteers.
    10. Plan major seasonal and/or outreach musicals/dramas each year. Find and plan
    other ways to use music to reach out to the community evangelistically.
    11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

    WORSHIP SERVICES:
    The Minister of Music will be responsible for the planning and leading of the congregational singing during each worship service. He will also be responsible for securing and scheduling soloists, quartets, ensembles and instrumental groups that will minister during the worship services. Plan the corporate worship services of Fair Haven in consultation with the Senior Pastor and do so with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy and musical appropriateness. Oversee song and choral selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements and coordination of all instrumentalists, and vocalists. Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship in services.

    INSTRUMENTAL MUSICIANS:
    The Minister of Music shall lead and supervise the instrumental accompanists. He is to provide musical scores, octavos and arrangements in advance so the accompanists will be prepared for rehearsals and worship.

    MUSICAL LISENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
    The Minister of Music shall be responsible for the administrative requirements, reports, licensure(s), and software facets of using, playing and performing such pieces of music in accordance with current industry standards of practice.

    Job Summary:
    This staff leader will support the vision of the church by serving as a ministry staff member, focused on leading and overseeing the Youth and Children’s Ministries of Cornerstone Baptist Mesquite. This includes developing and directing outreach and evangelism, pastoral care, and other ministries to CBCM youth and their families. Cornerstone is driven by a commitment to make growing disciples of Christ who are fully engaged in Worship, Small Groups, Ministry, and Missions with a commitment to a strong Family Ministry focus; all staff must actively exhibit and promote such engagement. Also, this staff leader will assist the head pastor with any task necessary to ensure the health and function of the church as a whole, and be ready to fill the pulpit whenever the head pastor is absent (illness, vacation, special events, etc.)

    Essential Job Functions:
    • Plan an annual calendar filled with bi-weekly events designed to equip and engage youth in worship, discipleship, ministry, and mission.
    • Build teams of volunteers in every area of responsibility in order to carry out duties of the ministry for the children and youth (nursery - college) at and around Cornerstone.
    • Communication to all volunteer leaders the core values, operating agreements, and ministry philosophy within the Children and Youth Ministries.

  • Job Description:

    The Student Pastor will serve the church by overseeing the youth ministry of VFF in consultation with the senior pastor. The Student Pastor must be creative in methods of planning and growing the ministry. He should have vision for the future and be a goal-oriented person who strives to see plans enacted to reach the next generation for Christ.

    The following is a guideline to be used:
    1. Lead and organize effective youth programs implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism, as well as ministry and mission opportunities.

    LONGEVITY
    This role offers an amazing opportunity to create lasting connections with students, families, and volunteers. After five very successful years, the former Pastor transitioned into the Teaching and Preaching Pastor of the church. In the interim, the student ministries has been led by the Executive Pastor and a group of committed volunteers who have done a great job of building relationships and keeping the ministry together. Now it's time for someone to come and refresh the ministry. This is not a role to be seen as a “stepping stone” for what might be next. Ideally, this role is for someone prepared to dedicate three to five years to growing with FBC and making a lasting impact.
    RELATIONAL
    First Baptist Church’s culture is highly relational. A successful candidate will be able to convey warmth and sincerity as they cultivate relationships with students, families, and staff. It will be important that the new leader feels comfortable with kids, students, parents, and community leaders.
    DISCIPLESHIP- FOCUSED
    This new leader will need to be well versed in small group ministry styles and developing small group leaders. There is a solid group of adult leaders who are committed and have longevity. At the heart of the student ministry, you'll find a focus on the transformative power of God's word.
